GraceLaced.
I can’t remember when I first saw that Ruth Chou Simons had a book coming out, but I promptly clicked over to Amazon and pre-ordered it. @gracelaced
I knew without even needing to flip through it, I wanted to add it to my personal library. {Ahem. Personal library brings to mind those gorgeous English Manor library rooms. Oh, I’d be all too happy to have a library room like that! 😄😊 Alas. I do not. Please do not picture this when you read about my personal library. It merely refers to my few shelves and mix of favorite books, old and new, humor and inspiration, children and adults, comic and classic, beautiful and dog-eared.}
Days rolled by and the release date for #GraceLacedbook drew nearer. Sign-ups for the launch team opened up and I promptly signed up for that as well. Then I read that they’d had an overwhelming response for the launch team. {No surprise there!!!} I doubted I’d end up as part of the team. Sure enough! I received a grateful and thankful email for signing up, but also regretful because there weren’t enough early copies for all who signed up. I was a bit disappointed because it meant waiting a little longer! {And I for one, don’t love waiting.}
Life holds lovely little things and surprises.
And in July, on my birthday, one bounced into my inbox in the form of an email announcing a few more available spaces and if I’d like I could join the launch team after all. It was a super fun birthday gift! 😊
It led to this beautiful book arriving in my mailbox and that led to taking some fun pictures {and handlettering} and telling all of YOU about it! Grace Laced is filled with beauty, with inspirational devotions, with resting in God’s Word. It inspires me. It would make a beautiful gift! {For yourself. For your best friend. For your mother. For your sister.}
This book is divided into four sections. Winter. Spring. Summer. Fall.
Each section contains eight devotionals and beautiful artwork and photos, of course!! You could use it for a Bible study as well, if you wanted. Each devotional includes some Scripture and also has a delve deeper on the side of the page, referencing more Scriptures to dig into.
Amazon has deeply discounted Grace Laced as of right now. Currently you can pre-order it for around $18. It had been 50% off making it $14.99. {Go here to pre-order.}
If you want to pre-order, don’t miss the bonuses. There are 3 different levels. Pre-order bonuses are available through August 31st.

{If you love books, pop over to this post ~ Ten Books I Want to Tell You About Today.}
My second Magnolia Journal magazine arrived in the mail! I really enjoyed this article by Joanna about gratitude and cultivating gratitude in our daily things. I also tore out a couple of pages with recipes I want to try.
I have managed to finish another dischcloth! The green seems very summery. I can’t believe we’re already so far through August. I still want summer for a while.
Did you see my August post? I talked about the We Saved You a Seat study starting online. {Read it here.}
I’m watching the videos and I have worked on the lessons some as well. I don’t know if I’ll get through the whole workbook right now, {it may have to wait until later} but I want to watch the videos while they’re available.
We spent several days last week in the Colorado mountains. The mountains are very beautiful in their own right. {Though sharp drop-offs and heights and rocky, bumpy trails aren’t my personal absolute favorite thing ever.}
Cool temperatures. Wearing sweatshirts. ATV riding for my people. Books for me. Aspens. 💖 Wildflowers. Marmot. Deer. Change of scenery. Change of pace.
As you know I sprained my ankle/foot the week before we packed up. Which puts a completely different spin on CHANGE OF PACE. If anyone should be wondering, I think it’s safe to say Colorado MIGHT not be the smartest place to go when you are limping/hobbling anyway. Because steps and inclines and rocks and things-built-into-the-sides-of-mountains and such. However, Smartest Ever, has never been on my Attribute Wheel. 🙂
It was refreshing and relaxing to slip away for a few days and always quite lovely to return HOME. And of course, the views and the changing colors and magnificence of the mountains, started stirring my memory with bits of songs and Psalms about mountains. Rocky Mountain High, obviously. 🎶🎶 And The God on the Mountain. 🎶🎶 For Purple Mountain Majesties. 🎶🎶.
Psalm 90:1-2 ~ Lord, you have been our dwelling place throughout all generations.
Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the whole world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God.
Psalm 92:1-2 ~ It is good to praise the Lord and make music to your name, O Most High, proclaiming your love in the morning and your faithfulness at night.
Do you have a favorite Colorado spot or a favorite song about the mountains? Oh, and any good advice for gimpy-limpy ankles/feet?

We always went to Creede or places around there for years. Since my daughter moved to Ft. Collins, we go to places around there for vacation. Will be in Walden Co this year. Heard fishing is good there. Where did you go?

We visited the Salida/Buena Vista area and also spent a few days close to Fairplay. Very beautiful! Two years ago we spent a few days in Ouray and Silverton. So gorgeous! I have some old blogposts with pictures from visiting there. 🙂
I hope fishing is fantastic for you!

I’m a Smokey Mountains girl. There’s nothing better than sitting on the back porch, early in the morning, wrapped in a blanket, sipping a cup of steaming coffee, listening to the birds sing as the sun rises through the mountain mist. Oh, my, it may be time for a week in the mountains. Blessings to you and yours! Marie

I can just picture it and “feel” it from your description.
We drove through the Smokey Mountains two years ago. So gorgeous!
I spent the weekend in Gatlinburg, TN with my sister and two girlfriends over twenty years ago. It was so pretty and a very fun time!
