We have a very kind neighbor. Over the last several years, she has offered and given sewing classes to young seamstresses around eleven or twelve years of age.
Starting this month, my daughter and one of her friends are doing some sewing under her tutelage. My daughter was pretty excited to go and even more excited when she came home. Plus, she brought home her first finished project!
They worked on practice sewing and then they made pillowcases. (Crazy how the mind works-as I’m typing what project they made, I’m sitting here thinking envelopes instead of pillowcases. Help!)
We picked out the material for the pillowcases a little while back. My daughter was excited to realize that the stripe she chose, will go very well with her newly painted walls.
They also brought home flashcards that their teacher made. They can go over them and learn some of the basic and important parts of sewing.
Psalm 139:5
You hem me in-behind and before; You have laid Your hand upon me.

How fun! Text me and tell me who your neighbor is! I didn’t know R was doing this. I’ve considered offering sewing lessons to youg girls of my friends. Just not sure I have what it takes to do it! Go R, it looks GREAT:) And I love the fabric you chose.

I think I need a set of those flashcards…I didn’t know your thread is supposed to come off the back of the spool!
