We have been enjoying fresh peaches.
They are so yummy. I remember eating Red Haven peaches when I was a kid. It was such a treat to walk through the backyard, munching on a fresh peach till nothing was left but the seed.
Peaches are my husband’s favorite fruit and my kiddos both seem to greatly like eating them too. We were blessed to be able to purchase two boxes of Colorado peaches at a good price. And we are definitely enjoying them.
Here is an all-time family favorite recipe that we like to eat when we have fresh peaches.
This recipe came to me from my mother-in-law, which came to her from her mother-in-law. In other words, it is my husband’s Grandma’s recipe. And one of his favorite dishes.
Fresh Peach Dessert
2 pkg graham crackers, crushed
1 stick butter, melted
Mix together and press lightly into a 9×13 dish.
8 oz cream cheese
1/2 cup, powdered suger
8 oz. Cool Whip
Combine ingredients and spread on top of graham cracker crust.
Approximately, 12 peaches sliced and sugared to taste
Layer peaches on top of cream cheese mixture. Serve and Enjoy!
*I usually fix the first two layers and then just chop up peaches and serve them in a bowl and we top our own crust. Unless you’re going to eat the whole dessert, the fresh peaches, obviously, don’t stay very nice.
